It was another whirlwind weekend of Christmas activities but a really fun one we did Saturday was that Little one and I did a cooking class at a regional shop--she decorated her first Gingerbread House! Candyland is the theme and did awesome for a 5 yr old, in between the popping one in, eating frosting, then next candy on the house! The best part for her was that we had to walk down Main St in early evening with it to the parking garage and she got lots of wow's. She was just beaming.
Hello....says Cookie come on in, dog snarfle and all..
I decided to take a Wine and Design at a local plant/flower shop, Roots, and this month was all about wreaths. It was so much fun!
This past year has been about finding my style, colors, and likes. My house is in transition and not anywhere near finished with furniture and decorating. This Christmas I went with natural as its the most calming to me. Since my pansies were going strong in my boxes I just draped some fresh garland.
Entry hallway and to the right is the dining room.
I placed mixed greens, pinecones, and a farmhouse style kitchen towel with a simple rusty jingle bell for a punch of fun. This Santa is an investment made from an artist from Myrtle Beach who comes to a Holiday Fair in Greenville each year.
Little one posing so sweetly in her Jammies! Ha!
A few special antique ornaments inherited from my Grandma.
A touch of Christmas in the breakfast area.
I used mixed greens with a metal planter, pinecones, and the bottom is lined with another farmhouse kitchen towel for a bit of color.
The little bench is a takeaway of my Mom's who has had this forever--at least the mid 80's. I painted her white and my daughter sits there every day to put her shoes on. Right at that corner is the door to the screened porch.
We use the screened porch here in the South year round.
Some hot cocoa for sitting a spell. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and to all Happy Holidays!
Oh, those are German Choc Cake Marshmallows! Can you believe I found them at Target.
More projects in the works but time is short so it may be Christmas or after during break that I get to work on a few. The SHOP has a few of my creations to see.
Did I tell you my camera and I have a love.not so love relationship (doesn't help that is has been dreary/overcast for 5 straight days). Santa please a DSLR is sooo on my list--or bucket list :)
Take care,

Kris,
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm Pat from On Crooked Creek!!! Thanks for stopping by with your sweet comment and visit from StoneGable!
The salad / dessert plates were purchased from Nell Hill's several years ago! Her own Mary Carrol line. Not sure they are available any longer.
Your home tour is lovely!!! I especially enjoyed your built~in white cabinet in the breakfast room!!! The oval baket filled with greens atop the cabinet caught my eye as did the flat basket down below. I, too. . .am a "Basket Case"!!!
I'll drop~in again soon, dear one!
Fondly,
Pat
