Simple Altered Paper Pads

Monday, August 20, 2012

I know, its been forever but I did have a wonderful summer with little one even with a few curve balls thrown in for good measure.

Little one and I like to rumble through 'the craft store' as she says.  This time it was Michael's $1 bins.  Love those--so easy to recycle the items into one's style.

I picked these up--first I'm a sucker for lined paper (you know the big wide rule) and to add it with craft brown paper: so mine.  They were okay but we wanted CUTE with a capital.

Then we picked these up in the Martha Stewart section.  I can't resist birds --these are adorable.  The tags came in a little book with lots of sweet choices.  Aqua is the current favorite in the house.

First painted over the current paper a craft acrylic cream color--I did it several times to get a nice coat.
Cut the paper tags into strips and used Tim Holtz washi tape.  Coat with some gesso or mod podge to seal.

Simple Sweet Altered Paper Pads:

Took less than 15 mins.  Caveat: that's with a ceiling fan going (a little to fast) --its been a hot summer!

Little one and her first day of Kindergarten today!  Sniff....time is swiftly going by.

1 Sweet Thoughts:

  1. Love this idea!! So cute, fast, and frugal! I hope your little one enjoys school this year :) Time does pass way too quickly!
